Microsoft Office it is probably one of the favorite software of hackers, besides Windows. If you have a pirated version of Office, and want to buy a legitimate one permission use, you may be interested in the following.
Microsoft offers users who use a pirated version of Office a discount for a subscription to Microsoft 365. If you look closely at the image below (posted by gHack), you will see the message:
“Discount up to 50%. For a limited time space, save up to 50% on a genuine Microsoft 365 subscription”.
Clicking on the message opens the following page in the default program tours. The page informs the user about the risks of using pirated software, such as security threats, data loss, lack of support for updates, etc.
Most importantly, the page also has a discount for Microsoft Office 365. You will need to sign in to your Microsoft account to see if you are eligible for the discount.
Note: we currently do not know if this offer applies to all countries. If you try and it applies to Greece, please report it to comments.
The strange thing is that the discount is for the cloud-based service and not the desktop suite of the pirate application used by the user.
Desktop applications seem to be a better choice, as you can use them for years, at a one-time charge. Not to mention the advantage of being able to use offline programs.
However, it is nice that Microsoft seems to be trying to turn pirates into legitimate customers.
What is being sold is not pirated. That's how much an office license costs. Search
