Pirate Office? You have a discount from Microsoft

Microsoft Office is probably one of the favorite software of hackers, besides Windows. If you have a pirated version of Office, and want to buy a legitimate one use, you may be interested in the following.

Microsoft is offering users who use a pirated version of Office a discount on a Microsoft 365 subscription. If you look closely at the below (posted by gHack) image, you will see the message:

“Discount up to 50%. For a limited time, save up to 50% on a genuine Microsoft 365 subscription.

Clicking on the message opens the following in the default browser. The page informs the user about the risks of using pirated software, such as security threats, data loss, lack of support for updates, etc.
office offer
Most importantly, the page also has a discount for Microsoft Office 365. You will need to sign in to your Microsoft account to see if you are eligible for the discount.

Note: at the moment we do not know if this offer is valid for all . If you try and it applies to Greece, please mention it in the comments.

The strange thing is that the discount is for the cloud-based service and not the desktop suite of the pirate application used by the user.

The desktops seems to be a better option as you can use them for years with a one time fee. Not to mention, the advantage of being able to use the programs offline.

However, it is nice that Microsoft seems to be trying to turn pirates into legitimate customers.
