Pidgin is a chat program that allows you to connect to your accounts on multiple chat networks at the same time. This means you can chat with friends in XMPP and watch an IRC channel at the same time, or chat on Facebook Messanger.

Pidgin is compatible with the following chat networks: Jabber / XMPP, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, IRC, Novell GroupWise Messenger, Lotus Sametime, SILC, SIMPLE and Zephyr. It can support many more networks with addons. Essentially the app can connect you to any chat network out there as long as you add it suitable addon (plugin).
The Pidgin application is constantly evolving. Traffic is usually frequent and comes from user contributions such as bug reports and updates at code.
Pidgin is free and does not contain advertisements. All our code is open source and available under GNU General Public License. This means that you can download the Pidgin app code and modify it according to your needs, as long as you publish your changes for everyone to benefit from.
