Robots are meant to get things done better by people; Maybe not, or at least not yet. Chinese robotics company Kuka built an arm for Agilus Kuka, which played with German table tennis champion and world number one Timo Boll on March 11. Unfortunately, the match was not broadcast live. However, the Kuka company shot a commercial with the match which you can see below. Most of the video is in slow movement.
Boll managed to win the match, which took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, but there is no way to know if the match was complete or shot. It is also not clear how the robot monitors the ping pong ball. On the Kuka website nothing says about optical sensors.
