Pinta, the open source design and image editing software code, cross-platform for GNU/Linux, Mac, Windows and BSD, just updated.
The Pinta app had stopped being updated around 5 so it's a surprise to see the release of Pinta 1.7.1, the first point release of Pinta version 1.7 (released 15 months ago, when the developers decided to continue the project).
The new version is mainly a bug-fix update, but it also brings some new features, such as the ability to scroll the canvas horizontally by holding down the Shift key while using the mouse wheel, or the ability to zoom in and out of a image without pressing the Ctrl key.
In addition, Pinta 1.7.1 allows users to swap the primary and secondary colors of the palette by pressing X, as well as move one pixel in the Meta toolsmovement of selected pixels and Move selection using the arrow keys.

The application as mentioned above is available for almost all operating systems and you can download it from the official website:

For those who have not connected it, the name Pinta comes from the rewriting of the Microsoft Paint application.
