Pinta, the open source, multi-platform open source image design and editing software for GNU / Linux, Mac, Windows and BSD, has just been updated.
The Pinta application had stopped being updated around 5 and so it is a surprise that Pinta 1.7.1 was released, the first point release of Pinta 1.7 (it was released 15 months ago, when the developers decided to continue the project).
The new version is mostly a bug fix, but it also brings some new features, such as the ability to scroll the canvas horizontally by holding down the Shift key while using the mouse wheel, or the ability to zoom in and out on an image without pressing the Ctrl key.
Additionally, Pinta 1.7.1 allows users to swap primary and secondary colors in the palette by pressing X, and to move one pixel in the Move Selected Pixels and Move Selection tools using the arrow keys.
More at new version announcement page.
The application as mentioned above is available for almost all operating systems and you can download it from the official website:

For those who have not connected it, the name Pinta comes from the rewriting of the Microsoft Paint application.
