Pinta, the open source, multi-platform open source image design and editing software for GNU / Linux, Mac, Windows and BSD, has just been updated.
The Pinta application had stopped being updated for around 5 years, so it was a surprise when we saw the release of Pinta 1.7.1 on 11/22/2021. Well, the developers of the application, continuing the surprises, released version 3.1.1 today (bug fix release for Pinta 3.1).
The new version brings some new features, such as the ability to edit webp images (Linux users will need to install the webp-pixbuf-loader package first ). This is a big update as the entire application has been ported to GTK 4 and .NET.
Yes the application was written from the beginning in GTK 3 and .NET.

For those who haven't connected it, the name Pinta comes from the anagram of Microsoft's Paint application.
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
