The PortableApps is one of the projects I have been following for many years. The project is constantly evolving, with regular updates to which new applications are added.
So an idea that started in 2004 to create a portable version of Mozilla Firefox has today reached version 22.0.1 which contains 450+ mobile apps (49GB) with over a billion downloads.
If you do not know, Portable Apps are the reason PortableApps project exists. These are versions of some programs that do not need to be installed on a system to work. On the contrary, thanks to its monolithic architecture, the executable has all the necessary configuration files, so that it can be used on any computer without installation.
