All Windows 10 PCs include and run the service Windows Insider (wisvc), regardless of users' participation in the Windows Insider program.
For users who do not wish to participate in the Insider program, wisvc is considered an unnecessary service and does not make any sense to run as a service and consume pconditions.
For many, the "unsolicited" services running on their computer may interfere with performance. In this post, we'll show you how to turn off Windows Insider in Windows 10.
There are 3 ways to turn off Windows Insider.
a. Via the service console
b. Via line orders
c. Via PowerShell
See them below and follow the one you understand the most.
A] Disable the Windows Insider service via the service console
Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
Step 2: In the Execute dialog box, type services.msc and press Enter to open Services.
Step 3: In the Services window, scroll to and locate the Windows Insider Service entry. If you have Greek Windows you will find it as a "Windows Insider Service". If you have English then look for "Windows Insider service".
Step 4: Double-click the entry to open its properties window.
Step 5: In the properties window, on the General tab, click the drop-down menu where it says “Startup type:” and select “Disabled”.
Step 6: Click the Apply button and then OK to save the changes.
You can now exit the Service Console.
2] Disable the Windows Insider service via the command line
Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
Step 2: In the Execute dialog box, type cmd, and then press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to open the Command Prompt / Override command prompt.
Step 3: In the Command Prompt window, type or copy and paste the following command and press Enter.
sc config "wisvc" start = disabled
Step 4: Close the command prompt window.
3] Disable Windows Insider through PowerShell
Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
Step 2: In the Run dialog box, type powershell.exe, and then press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to open the Command Prompt in elevator / elevated mode.
Step 3: On the PowerShell console, type or copy and paste the following command and press Enter.
Set-Service wisvc -StartupType Disabled
Step 4: You can now exit the PowerShell console.
If I have already put the 11s as an insider can I go back to the 10s? because I see that some functions are not as they should be e.g. the caps lock light does not come on, the printer and my mouse are disconnected, etc. Thanks.
you can return if not more than 10 days have passed
