PrivacyBreacher is an open source Android app built to show you privacy issues in every device that uses Google's software.
The application was developed based on the Privacy Issues in Android article that you can find here.
The application is compatible with any device running Android 9 or later and does not require additional permissions. In fact, it is designed to show you what data your device applications can access without requiring additional permissions.
You can launch the app after installation and you will see a basic UI with three buttons. The first, Physical Activity Monitor, shows how any app on your device can use the phone's sensors to track direction, speed movementand others using additional sensors such as the gyroscope, accelerometer or magnetometer.
The next button is called Phone Activity Monitor and monitors certain events on the device, e.g. when the charger was connected, if the screen was off, when the phone was disconnected from the charger, or when it was connected to a power outlet or a computer using USB.
The third button is called Phone Information and displays information about what any app does when installed on a device:
List of all installed applications.
Mobile and Wi-Fi data used since last boot.
Uptime of the device.
Brand name of the device, name, manufacturer, time and date of manufacture.
The above information may seem harmless to you, but it could be used for fingerprinting or other tracking methods.
