A few hours ago we published for uProxy, a tool from Google to circumvent all kinds of censorship. His presentation was at the Google Ideas conference in New York. At the same conference, the company presented Project Shield as a tool to protect websites from DDoS attacks.
The DDoS protection tool to it only works with procalls from the company. It builds on the company's existing PageSpeed service, which improves the performance of a by clicking heres.
“Project Shield is an initiative to use Google's infrastructure to protect websites. Combines technologies DDoS mitigation and Google's PageSpeed service, which allow websites to serve their content through Google to better protect against DDoS attacks,” Google says.
The service, obviously, will be similar to CloudFlare. The new Google service is free, but is currently only available with an invitation.
If you want to try it, you can use the online form. For now, Google has a preference for news sites or human rights websites.
