The Market Control Authority imposed a fine of 150.000 euros on pcrama.gr, following complaints about non-delivery of products, non-refunds and misleading practices.
The Independent Market Surveillance and Consumer Protection Authority announced the imposition of a fine of 150.000 euros on the company PCRAMA SINGLE-PERSON IKE, which manages the online store pcrama.gr.
The decision was taken following numerous consumer complaints and a relevant audit conducted by the Authority. During the audit, serious violations of consumer law were found. Among the violations are the failure to deliver products for which customers had already paid in advance, the failure to refund money in cases of inability to fulfill orders, as well as the presentation of a misleading image regarding the availability and delivery time of products.
It is noted that the same company had been imposed two administrative fines the previous year for corresponding violations, which reinforced the gravity of the decision.
Due to the seriousness and repetitive nature of the practices, the Authority proceeded to temporarily ban access to the online store, in order to prevent further transactions with consumers.
The Authority emphasizes that it systematically monitors the digital market and there will be no tolerance for business practices that mislead citizens and harm their financial interests.
Although the press releases will range from very select to rare, I said I'd pass...because sometimes the editors hide.
