H hacking team RIU Star Patrol, claimed responsibility for the DDoS that caused the Tumblr downtime earlier this week. The attack lasted about two hours.

RIU Star Patrol announced in an interview uploaded to YouTube that they are considering bringing down the PSN and Xbox Live networks on Christmas Day using coordinated DDoS attacks similar to the one they carried out against Tumblr.
DDoS attacks on PSN and Xbox Live have become more fashionable on Christmas, and Sony and Microsoft have promised to strengthen their protection systems to block these attacks.
