Public Integrity Hackathon 1-2 April in Harokopio

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) together with the General Secretariat for the Fight against Corruption (G.GA.KA.D.), the Harokopion University and the Open Technologies Organization (), is organizing a Hackathon for Integrity in the Public Sector.

It is a participatory programming marathon aimed at students, academic researchers, developers, as well as anyone interested in anti-corruption issues looking for ways to raise awareness in society about that's all.Public Integrity Hackathon

Corruption in the public sector is one of the most corrosive phenomena of our time. It leads to a waste of public resources, exacerbates economic and social inequalities, gives rise to discontent and political polarization and reduces against public institutions.

Risks for her Corruption phenomena are found in the various interactions between the public and private sectors, civil society and individuals at all levels of the political decision-making process. Thus, to address these risks arising from transactions between citizens and the government, to strengthen integrity and to reduce the phenomena of corruption in the public sector, the involvement of all of society is required.

Hackathon aims to promote the development of ideas and innovative solutions for the active participation of citizens in the prevention and fight against corruption in Greece. It is an open call for positive actions and initiatives that will change the everyday life of citizens.

Hackathon will be hosted at the Department of Informatics and Telematics of the Harokopio University (Homer 9, Tavros, for instructions on how to access the map). Students, academic researchers, start-ups, developers and others interested in anti- corruption and raising awareness among citizens.
