Public Integrity : The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), with the support of the European Commission and in cooperation with the General Secretariat for Combating (GE.G.KA.D.), the Harokopion University and the Open Technologies Organization (EELLAK), are organizing the Public Integrity Hackathon on April 1 & 2, 2017.

Hackathon will be hosted at the Department of Informatics and Telematics of the Harokopio University and will be addressed to students, academics, start-ups, developers, researchers as well as those interested in anti-corruption and public awareness issues.Public Integrity Hackathon

The main objective of the "Public Integrity Hackathon" is the creation and development of innovative digital applications (for the internet, computers, ) with the aim of raising public awareness regarding the prevention and zero tolerance of corruption phenomena. In general, corruption "is the abuse of delegated power for personal gain".

Public Integrity Hackathon: It's one Intensive martial arts competition for ideas and programming, bringing together anti-corruption officials with the talents and creativity of software developers, aiming to develop applications for the anti-corruption challenges.

These digital applications may include:
• Educational applications aimed at students,
• Establish a central platform for receiving complaints about corruption,
• Creating tools for civil servants,
• Cost-of-cost visualization applications,
• Implementation for the monitoring of state budgets and the monitoring of procedures by citizens,
• Games that will familiarize citizens with the concept of corruption.

These proposals will teach / ensure citizens the necessary measure of transparency and integrity that should govern public life, making them collaborators in the effort to combat these phenomena.

At the discretion of the OECD, winners will be able to sign a service contract to develop their idea into a complete technology tool ready for use by the public.

Applications will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:
• Relevance to Promoting Integrity and Fighting Corruption,
• Innovation,
• Practical utility,
• Potential viability and impact,
• Its clarity s.

This initiative is taken in the framework of the Greek Anti-Corruption Plan, which is supported by the OECD and the European Commission in the context of technical assistance to fight corruption.
