The first phones with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor have just started to appear on the market but that does not stop the company from announcing an upgraded version today called Snapdragon 768G.
The original Snapdragon 765G was announced in December 2019, alongside the standard 765 and the flagship 865. The two 765 processors were notable for being Qualcomm's first chipset to feature built-in 5G modems. (The Snapdragon 865, while including 5G from the frontchoice, requires a separate cellular modem.)
The main difference between the regular 765 and 765G was the addition of a Qualcomm Adreno 620 GPU, which the company promised would deliver up to 20% improved performance over the standard 765. Qualcomm says it was able to improve this performance by GPU with an additional 15% on the 768G, in addition to the clock speed improvement in the cpu up to 2,8GHz from 2,4GHz.
Ο new Snapdragon 768G processor it offers 5G and better CPU and GPU performance than its predecessor. It will feature an integrated Snapdragon X52 modem with support for both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G, as well as compatibility with all networks 5G.
Like the original 765G, the 768G is primarily intended for Appliances which seem to be oriented towards gamea. It will debut on the Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G Racing Edition, which was also announced today.
