Radio Garden is, in essence, the Google Earth for the radio. You have a globe that you can spin and aim at any live radio station you want around the world.
You have a 3D world on your screen and you can zoom in to local stations all over the world. The immediate sense of what you hear and where the planet radiates (meaning it also represents the region's culture) is amazing. A world full of dots representing live radio stations that you can tune in.
In Radio Garden using the options on the top left of the website, you can switch between live radio stations, history, jingles, and recorded interviews. Of course the Live streams are the most exciting, and within minutes you can browse everywhere from radio stations in Uganda to pop radio stations in Νορβηγία or to Japan for J-pop or as far as India for astrological advice. It's a veritable cornucopia of Amalthea, with nearly 10.000 stations at your disposal to tune into.
The Radio Garden website is not new. It exists in dianetwork from 2016, nevertheless it is a good application that is worth introducing to you. Those who explore it, don't expect to hear all the local radio stations from Greece, as it only broadcasts those that are live on the internet. But it is by far the easiest to manage website for listening to world radio and without annoying ads. While writing this article I was listening to some radio station (I was stuck I would say) from southern Italy. The stream worked flawlessly and never got stuck once.
You can visit the website Radio Garden from here. And you can download the corresponding app for cell phones Android from here.
