On Saturday night, astronomers working on the world's most powerful radio telescope, the MeerKAT, put into operation 16 satellite dishes of the radio telescope and published the first image of it.
The first tests Results it was awesome. While it works with only a quarter of the 64 dishes it will eventually include the MeerKat, the telescope was able to find 1300 new galaxies in a small corner of the universe, where we previously knew there were only 70 galaxies.

MeerKat will help astronomers study everything from black holes and the dark one energy for the development of the early universe about 13 billion years ago. The first image from MeerKat shows several galaxies with supermassive black holes at their centers, as well as a galaxy about 200 million light-years away.
