The American services law enforcement officers use a technology that allows them to see through walls of buildings and monitor what is happening. Once again there are questions about our privacy. Privacy has become just a concept, which apparently doesn't even exist in our homes.
According to a recent publication by USA Today, over 50 law enforcement agencies in America, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the US Marshals, have been secretly using the new radar for the past two years. The fact came to light only last month during duration of a hearing in Denver.
The device, called Range-R, sends radio waves that can detect the smallest movement (even breathing) from a distance of 15 meters, as a police officer has reported during a hearing process describing the Range-R.
All you need to do is place the device outside a home. The operators of the device start transmitting radar pulses through the wall, which allows them to scan every object in the house they are watching. Using the device they can detect from a moving object, which they characterize as "moving" (more active) to a "breath" (less active).
More than 200 Range-Rs have been sold to "50 law enforcement agencies at a cost of about $ 6.000 each" by a New York-based company called L-3 Communications.

Perhaps I understand why the Authorities need a very modern equipment to look for criminals, but I do not understand why they are forgiving. Maybe because they also recognize that the use of such devices is unorthodox and contrary to privacy laws. And if they do not recognize it, there is a problem. Why should a search warrant be needed?
