Real Skills for Scientists by the ESF returns in October

The new cycle “Real Skills for Scientists – Computer Science” will start on October 8, 2020 and will be completed in 3 seminars, aiming to develop skills for the professional employment of young scientists and researchers in Computer Science.

The National Documentation and Electronic Content Center (EKT), within the framework of the Initiative "Knowledge Bridges and", and REAL Science, after the successful first round of webinars "Real Skills for Scientists" , return him October 2020 with the organization of the second cycle in the field Computer Science (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.). The second round of seminars is supported by Research and Innovation Foundation of Cyprus.

The series of seminars, which consists of 3 webinars with trained speakers on the various topics that will be presented, is aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students, doctoral and postdoctoral researchers as well as young researchers, researchers and scholars.

As part of the seminars, young scientists as well as young professionals and entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to meet online and discuss with renowned scientists from and abroad, who will share their own career experiences. Speakers come from both academia and business.

All the seminars have as their common axis the development of skills for the professional employment of young scientists and researchers, such as the creation of a suitable curriculum vitae, volunteer work, parallel fields of work to strengthen the research / scientific profile, writing research proposals and , research activity through scientific publications, useful tips for networking etc.

The second round of seminars includes 3 seminars in October. Specifically:

  • Thursday, October 8 2020: Creating, strengthening a CV
  • Thursday, October 15, 2020: Financing, job opportunities
  • Thursday, October 22, 2020: Networking, community building
