Russia's communications regulator has blocked Google News, accusing it of promoting misinformation about the war in Ukraine.
According to the Russian news agency Interfax, the Federal Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media Supervision Service (Roscomnadzor) excluded Alphabet Inc.'s news gathering service, ie Google News .
Roskomnadzor said in a statement: "The US news resource provided access to numerous publications and material containing unreliable and publicly relevant information about the course of the special military operation in Ukraine."
Russia has already blocked Facebook in recent weeks, Instagram and Twitter.
