The Turkish one police seized an iPhone used by the terrorist who killed the Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov and apparently trying to crack the 4-digit code protecting it.
MacReports reports that the device was an iPhone 4s with an unknown version of iOS. Turkish investigators are trying to crack open the device to gain access to stored information for any evidence of terrorist activity inside the country.
Cracking the iPhone's security has proven to be particularly difficult, with the FBI itself trying unsuccessfully last year to crack the device used by one of San's terrorists Bernardino. If you remember the FBI had then asked Apple for help as it could not unlock the device, but Cupertino refused to open the iPhone.
This time, it is not yet clear whether Turkey contacts Apple to help with the research, but even if it comes, Cupertino will probably refuse any help.
