Bixby is the default voice assistant on Samsung Galaxy phones. You can easily replace it with Google Gemini and use the power button to launch Google's voice assistant.
The Samsung Galaxy has Bixby, the voice assistant built into the phone. However, if you prefer to use Google Gemini, here's a quick guide to help you through the process.
By default, when you long-press the side button on your Galaxy, Bixby will appear, waiting for you to ask a question. Let's see how we can use the same power button to bring up Google Gemini on your phone.
Install Google Gemini
If you haven't already, go to Google Play Store and install the Google Gemini app.
Replacing Google Assistant with Gemini
Next, you'll need to replace the good old Google Assistant with Gemini, to make it act as the primary Google voice assistant on your phone. Open the Google Assistant app and set Gemini as the default Google digital assistant app on your phone.
Pairing the power button with Gemini
Now we're ready to configure the power button to display Gemini instead of Bixby.
Install the apps Good Lock and Register from the Galaxy Store.
Open the Good Lock app, go to the Plugins tab, and tap on Register to open it.
Inside Registar, click on the action Side-key press and hold and set the action Access your Google Voice Assistant.
That's it! Now you can long press the power button to bring up Gemini on your Samsung.
You can also add ChatGPT, Perplexity or any other AI application in the same way. You will need to set the action to Side-key press and hold From within Registar, click the gear icon and select the application you want to start.
