Samsung revealed in the CES 2019 report the first 4 inch OLED 15,6 XNUMX inch laptop screen and is considered the most likely model to be used by HP and Dell.
We look forward to seeing the first OLED laptop and the company at CES 2019 Samsung presented an OLED 4 screen with diagonal 15,6 inches. The monitors will offer a High Dynamic Range (HDR), excellent color reproduction and high external visibility, according to the Samsung Display Manager at Yoon Jae-nam.
With OLED technology each pixel has its own "light", so you have a true black when they are off. Samsung points out that its panels meet VESA's DisplayHDR True Black specification. It also states that OLED panels tend to have better color accuracy than LCD screens, and can easily handle HDR. Brightness levels peak at 600 nits, enough to meet the demanding DisplayHDR 600 certification, and the screen covers 100% of the range DCI-P3 with 34 million colors. It is also thinner, lighter and uses less energy compared to an LCD screen.
OLEDs are not the perfect product as they also have these problems. Samsung will begin building the monitors in mid-February of 2019, but has not mentioned which notebook manufacturers will use them. However, 4K OLED screens may be worn on Dell XPS 15, Alienware m15 and G 15 machines released in March as well as on the HP Spectre x360 OLED 2-in-1 that will be released in July.
