Samsung Linux on DeX comes private beta

Samsung will release a private beta of it of Linux on DeX on November 12th. Linux on DeX will allow users to open a of Ubuntu from Note 9.

Linux in DeX will only support one of Ubuntu, (on 16.04 LTS) and will only work on Note 9 and Tab S4 devices that have at least 8GB of storage and greater than 4GB, according to Samsung. All packages should be compiled for Arm 64.

Samsung claims that the new Linux on DeX interface can be used by developers to work "on the go" and in the case of the Tab S4, it will have a more complete tablet interface.

"Linux in DeX can slow down or shut down suddenly in case of memory shortage," warns the Korean company.

If you're still interested, you can sign up to try the private beta version.

Note that Linux on DeX initially needed one , but Samsung's latest devices only need a USB-C to HDMI cable.
