And when we said that the smartphones' batteries stopped to explode, the news is that a Samsung model battery not only exploded, it also fired into a car and ended up killing its owner.
This time, however, it is not clear which Samsung model is responsible, as the owner owned two phones, one Galaxy S4 and one Galaxy S8. It is therefore difficult to determine which one of them both dashed and eventually destroyed a Nissan Maxima. Samsung is already investigating the case and is likely to give us more information soon.
Our information comes from WXYZ of Detroit, and states that a female driver who maintains her anonymity just as he has been trying to do aside and stop her car before the flames wrap it up. The incident happened in the morning of 21 May when a woman was driving her car with the two phones in a cup holder.
Although the lack of evidence may raise doubts about this incident, the Detroit Fire Department has confirmed it, but without giving details of the investigation.
On the other hand, her lawyer, Gerald Thurswell, says the driver after the incident has trouble sleeping and says he has already contacted the phone maker.
Good news for Samsung is that it has not been treated so far. The bad news is that if Galaxy S8 is the cause of the fire then the news may cause new concerns to Samsung phone owners.
