In the context of a presentations to its investors, the Japanese giant noted that approximately 41% of PlayStation 5 and PS4 owners are women. Compare that to just 18 percent on the PS1, and you'll see the clear demographic increase for consoles in the female gender.

The Play Station Studios has done a great job of diversifying in recent years, introducing strong female leads such as Aloy on Horizon Zero Dawn and the chloe frazer in Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
