Seagate is proud of its new hard drive Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD from helium of 10-terabyte and mentions it as very economical, without wasting energy, and as the lightest in the 10TB category.
The monster unit is 3,5 inches and comes with an array that includes seven "platters" and 14 heads. The drive according to the company can deliver 6Gbps as SATA and over 12GB/s with Serial Attached SCSI interface.
Seagate reports that the unit has an average time between a breakdown of 2.500.000 hours.
The new drive is of course aimed at data centers that provide services cloud computing. Seagate already has Huawei and Alibaba as customers.
Provides an improved MTBF of 2,5 million hours and provides consistent performance for customers in a 24 × 7 multi-disc environment.
So the Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD comes business ready and is availables both in 6Gb/s SATA and as SAS with 12GB/s.
