Seagate introduced the drives Mosaic 4+ HAMR with capacities up to 44TB. In fact, according to the company, some drives are already operating in two state-of-the-art cloud providers.
The company claims that the platform is the only heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) implementation currently operating at scale and aims to move from today's 4+TB per disk to 10TB per disk, eventually enabling 100TB-class disks.
