The siduction distribution is an operating system based on the Unstable branch of Debian GNU/Linux (Debian GNU/Linux 12 “Bookworm”). The project includes several updates to selected desktops and the Linux kernel.
Tip: don't be scared by Unstable Debian, it's very stable.
It contains the Linux 6.1 kernel, along with the latest KDE Plasma 5.26.4 desktop environment, (KDE Frameworks 5.101 and KDE Gear 22.12 software suites) or the latest Xfce 4.18 and LXQt 1.2 desktop environments.
It also adopts the Nala package manager:
“Nala comes as a new environment for the Debian frontend apt package manager. It works like a drop-in replacement, meaning you can use the commands you're used to from apt with nala too. Apt does work, but it's neither fast nor very user-friendly in terms of how it outputs its information. Nala seems to be faster using parallel downloads, has better performance, and looks more user-friendly.
It also has a history function borrowed from the Fedora Package Manager frontend dnf.
You can try nala now and if you don't like it you can go back to apt anytime. You can also use both, alternating between them.
More about nala can be found on the website Linuxiac. The announcement of the new release provides more details.
