The pirates who fell into the trap to download a torrent with the supposed game Watch Dogs from the Skidrow group have been infected with software digital coin mining.
Watch Dogs game is set to be released tomorrow, May 27, but pirated versions for consoles like PS3 or Xbox 360 have already appeared online.
Over the weekend, a fake version of the PC game made its appearance. This version seems to have been "broken" by the well-known Skidrow team and has appeared on some torrent sites.
However, the archives contained, did not include the game. The files contained various bitcoin and litecoin mining malware, according to Reddit.
More specifically, a malware that uses the CPU of the infected computer to make complex calculations in order to create coins for those who released the malicious software.
If you downloaded the alleged game, scan your computer with an updated and trusted one anti-virus.
