Skype is one application that has been helping you make video calls for years. But for years, many people have been looking for ways to record Skype video calls, until recently the company announced that it is adding this particular feature to the app.
So Skype got a video recording function in all its versions. The function allows you to record a call, audio as well as video. Currently the new feature is only available in beta versions of Skype, and is still under development.
Below we will see how it works in Windows 10. We recommend that you read the legal part at the end of this post.
Open the Skype application and select the contact you want to call. As mentioned above you can record audio or video.
Once the call is in progress, click the plus button on the right in the bottom bar. From menu that opens, select it choice Start recording.
Of course you need to update the Skype app on latest version released.
Note that when you start recording a voice or video call on Skype, everyone involved in the call is notified of what you are doing. When the recording is complete, both parties to the conversation receive a copy of the recording. The copy is deleted after 30 days.
Legal concerns
Before using this feature, make sure you know what the law says about call recording. Although Skype warns all parties to record a call, notifying itself may not be enough legally.
Both parties are supposed to agree after receiving the warning and continuing to remain on the call. But recording calls can be illegal, regardless of whether everyone agrees and knows they are being recorded. If you are registering legally, make sure that the conditions under which you record it allow you to use it later.
