Good news for Microsoft friends after having one company cooperation with Signal, a secure messaging application, is preparing to add end to end encryption to Skype.
This means that all the conversations, files and audio messages that are sent and received will be transmitted safely through the service and you will be able to read them only by you and the recipient.
So the company tries to ensure that the data passing through the service servers will not be monitored by anyone. No one will be able to record or analyze data passing through Microsoft servers, as is the case with messages on Facebook Messenger, on WhatsApp and on Telegram.
However, this encryption will not yet be applied to audio and video calls. For them it will usesis the standard encryption offered by Microsoft with this service.
The security feature is currently available on the latter version of Skype Insider for Mac, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS.
It should be noted that to work, both parties should use the latest version. As TheVerge reports, Microsoft would do well to activate this feature by default when it is released in an upcoming final version of Skype.
