Debian 11 was recently released, so the next big distribution will undoubtedly be that of Slackware Linux 15.0, a major update to the world's oldest Linux distribution.
Patrick Volkerding has just announced that the "Current" branch of Slackware, is in freeze status of most packages and in preparation for the final release:
"Together with the usual suspects, I'm trying to clear the list of things that need to be done to achieve the level of excellence required by each version of acSlackware, and I think we have come quite close.
GCC is in version 11.2.0 and everything has been verified. I do not see any benefit for another public rebuild, so we are not going to do that. Anyway, without further ado, here is the Slackware 15.0 release candidate one.
Assume that most packages are in freeze mode and now focus on the rest for any errors. We will probably have Plasma bug fixes in the next release. ”
