Smart City applications have been acquired by Chalkis

Chalkida Smart City: The road to the "smart city" is now shown by Chalkida, where pilot "smart" parking systems (Smart ), lighting (Smart Lighting) and measurement of environmental parameters (Air Quality Monitoring), as well as a single platform for their management. The project, jointly implemented by OTE Group, Cisco, KAVKAS and OTS, demonstrates in practice how adoption "Smart" technologies contributes to improving the quality of life and daily life of the inhabitants of a city.

The Mayor of Chalkida, Mr. Christos Pagonis, stated in this regard: "With the valuable contribution of important partners, Chalkida is taking a big step to become a model of" green "&" smart "city ( Smart City ) for the whole country. This work demonstrates that new technologies can play a key role in improving the quality of life of our residents, reducing environmental impacts and energy demand. We are proud that our city is pointing the way to the future. "Smart City

"The new digital age gives us the tools to change our daily lives with technology. By implementing "smart" solutions in Chalkida, the OTE Group, Cisco, OTS and KAFKAS, show in practice how we can make our cities more functional, protect the environment, reduce operating costs and offer better quality of life. Utilizing information & communication technologies, we can make our world better ", said the Chief Commercial Officer Business Segment of OTE Group, Mr. Grigoris Christopoulos.

Smart City: "Smart" solutions for parking and lighting with a single management platform

The "smart" parking solution, combined with the mobile application developed by OTS and available for Android and iOS devices, enables drivers to be informed of where there are free parking spaces and how to get to them, but and be guided to another position in case the original one is occupied. The application is expected to contribute significantly to the reduction of the time to find a parking space and, by extension, to the relief of traffic congestion and the emission of pollutants. At the same time, it allows the Municipal Authority to manage the parking spaces more effectively, having an image both of the parking time of each vehicle, and of any parking that violates the K.O.K.

The "smart" SSL / LED lighting systems of KAYKAS have replaced conventional technology lighting systems and have already contributed to energy savings over 60%. Through their wireless management, they provide the ability to monitor and program their remote operation and maintenance, as well as the dynamic adjustment of lighting, aiming at maximum energy savings, safety and the visual comfort of citizens.

The data of the "smart" solutions are collected, through network infrastructures, in Cloud infrastructures of the OTE Group and end up on the Smart & Cisco platform. Through the platform, the "smart" solutions are managed, as well as the integration, storage and display of data from the applications, through a single viewing environment (dashboard). The Smart & Connected Digital Platform has the potential to integrate more smart solutions in the future.

Smart City: A system for measuring environmental parameters for better quality of life

The measurement of environmental parameters, installed by OTE Group, uses high-quality sensors for detecting harmful gases in the atmosphere and three types of microparticles. It will also measure temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. Thus, the Municipal Authority will be able to better plan and implement actions to reduce air pollution by improving the quality of life of residents.
