Jack Lindenberg, a professional photographer, propose a simple trick to see how long before you've used the movies you have in your hands. Just smell them !!!!!
In the era of electronic cameras and Photoshop, professionals of this kind still insist on analog-chemical photographic films, τα οποία κατά την γνώμη τους, αποδίδουν στα σημεία πολύ καλύτερα από τα ψηφιακά.
As Lindenberg reports, at some point he turned to home after an excursion and tried to arrange the rolls of films in chronological order, but found that he had forgotten to mark them with the date they were exposed to light. And then he did something simple. He began to smell them. He realized that the smell of the films is slowly disappearing.
If the film smells intense chemicals, then it is freshly exposed to light. If the movie does not smell anything, then it's the first movie you've ever used.
When the film is exposed to light, the chemical smell begins to fade, so your recent roll will smell stronger. Of course this trick works on rolls they have recently exposed to light, since after a period of time none of them smell anymore.
