Thousands of videos and photos by Snapchat were posted online over the weekend. It seems that up to 200.000 of its users services may have fallen victim to the latest mass photo leak, with hackers claiming to have around 13GB of photos.
As mentioned in a previous publication the company denied that its systems had been violated:
“We can confirm that Snapchat's servers were never compromised and are not the source of these leaks. Snapchatters were victimized by using third-party apps,” the company said, according to the Guardian.
Η Snapsaved.com, is a website that allowed its users Snapchat to save the photos they were receiving. The website therefore issued an announcement on Saturday through its Facebook page claiming that its systems were being violated.
“We would like to inform our audience that snapsaved.com is hacked. We had not set it up correctly Apache στον διακομιστή μας. Η υπηρεσία SnapChat δεν έχει παραβιαστεί, και αυτές οι εικόνες δεν προέρχονται από τη βάση δεδομένων τους”, δήλωσαν από τη Snapsaved.
The statement continued: "As soon as we discovered the breach of our systems, we deleted everything, including the database we were using. We can say that they managed to get 500MB of photos, but they could not get any personal information from the database. "
