Serious security gap on 60% of Android devices

According to Tod Beardsly, by the company security specialist Rapid7, all its versions where is older than Android 4.4 , have a lot serious security gap. The shifts responsibility to mobile manufacturers.

Android 1

This security gap allows hackers to easily attack the user of such device while in the WebView, a part of the system that allows applications to view content online.

According to Android's usage statistics, devices with Android 4.3 and older versions are currently 60% of Android devices, about 939 million.

But what impresses is that Google does not intend to release an update for these millions of devices, mainly because they are old versions of Android.

As they all look, it is in the hands of manufacturers to address and correct this security gap.
