Softaculous announced a security breach in their infrastructure. The company states:
“We have detected unauthorized access to some of our mirror servers. We took immediate steps to secure our infrastructure, isolate and protect our customers' data and work with experts."
The company also reports that none of its customers' servers are affected by this incident. Softaculous, Virtualizor and Webuzo v3 server software products are regularly reviewed by third parties and security experts with each new release. Softaculous immediately started an additional audit of all the software available to its customers.
Loginizer, Pagelayer, wpcentral, Backuply, and Popularfx are not affected.
All servers that hosted customer names, addresses, license information, and hashed customer account passwords are not affected. Also no credit card information is stored.
Of course the company recommends that its customers change passwords or authentication details that have been shared with the support team while the security team and experts continue to assess the nature of the problem.
