Sony is preparing to release Ultra at 4 April, a new streaming service. If you are planning to watch 4K movies on Ultra, you may need to prepare your wallet.
Sony will charge its customers with 30 dollars for streaming a movie at 4K.
According to Buzzfeed, the initial repertoire will include movies like 'The Walk,' 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon,' and 'Ghostbusters.' Generally around 40-50 movies will be available at the launch of the new service and you will have to pay $30 to be able to store them in Sony's new UltraViolet cloud.
Let us mention that 30 dollars is approximately the cost of two cinemagraphics of tickets in large urban areas such as New York – or two tickets and popcorn in smaller towns.
The Ultra service will be available at Android Sony 4K TVs. The service will also offer TV shows, but Sony has not yet revealed how much it will charge per episode. Considering the price it has set per movie, we should expect a pretty hot price for 4K and HDR streaming.
At the start of the Ultra service, the company's customers will be able to stream four movies for free when they sign up.
What do you say? Would you be interested in such a service at this price?
