Specifically, the SpaceVR hopes to offer its customers a unique experience of a very special effect called The Overview Effect. Basically what it wants to do is change the mindset of man about how we see ourselves and our planet and how fragile we really are in the vast space that surrounds us.
Obviously, it is quite difficult for ordinary people to realize how small the blue pebble is above.
To achieve this, the SpaceVR team wants to send pairs of Go-Pro cameras, which should be placed in a frame suitable for a vacuum environment and placed in the ISS. However, they need the money for this.
To achieve this cost, they began one Kickstarter campaign to raise about half a million dollars to rent a flight that will take the cameras to the ISS as well as their placement in the ISS, plus some extra unpredictable costs.
To encourage future sponsors, those who participate in project giving some money will get posters, early access to the video, and those without VR glasses will get a cardboard VR kit to see everything on their smartphone. for more information on the project page.
