Have you installed the Super Mario Run on your Android? It's malware

After the success of Pokémon Go, Super Mario Run has become the hottest της Nintendo για μικρούς και μεγάλους. Έχοντας ήδη 40 εκατομμύρια downloads το παιχνίδι ήρθε πριν μία εβδομάδα και στην iOS.mario

Of course, fans of Android devices are disappointed since it is not officially compatible with their operating system yet. A simple search on the internet, however, will convince you otherwise. If you search you will find an executable apk of the game which runs on Android and is not under the Google Play platform.

Have you already downloaded and run it on your phone? Congratulations!! You are infected with malware. Super Mario Run has so far only been released for iOS devices and is not available on Google Play. Anything related on the internet is software.

For the malware to be installed, the user must go to its menu of the phone and set it to allow installation of apps from “untrusted sources”.

Some of these that are circulating on the internet have the ability to take full control of your Android device, since the application asks for access during installation to edit, read, receive and send SMS messages, take photos and and locate your location using GPS.

However, one of the malicious applications entitled "Super Mario”Creates additives , displays pop-ups and banner ads, installs other malicious applications on the victim's smartphone, and performs activities without user interaction. According to the antivirus company Trend Micro its executives have been detected the malicious Super Mario application 90.000 times this year.

Another app, also titled "Super Mario" discovered by the security firm, asks users to first install an app called 9Apps, which then asks for more permissions, including recording audio, reading and modifying the and even access to the SD card.

So, instead of downloading apps from unfamiliar third-party stores, we recommend that Android users wait for official traffic through Google Play.

We also recommend that you go to Settings → Security and make sure the "Unknown Sources" option is turned off.
