After two years in top position in Symantec, The Steve Bennett was dismissed by the company.
The security company announced Thursday that Bennett is no longer chairman and CEO, and that he has resigned from the company's board of directors. A member of the Board of Directors, Mr Michael Brown will take over as interim President and CEO, effective immediately.
"Our priority now is to identify a leader who will be able to capitalize on the assets data of our company and a leadership team that will lead us to the next stage of innovation and development of Symantec products," said Daniel Schulman, chairman of Symantec's board of directors.
"This decision was the result of an ongoing consultation process, and was not provoked by any incident or indecency."
Η Symantec said a special board of the board would immediately begin the search for a new CEO.
Ο Bennett είχε αντικαταστήσει σαν CEO τον Enrique Salem το 2012, καθώς η εταιρεία, καθώς η εταιρεία προσπαθούσε να αντιστρέψει την drop των κερδών της.
