Syrmos is a free app for the Athens Metro, Tram and Suburban Railway, showing the next departure from each station. It does not require an account, contains no ads and does not collect any personal data – no device identifiers, no analytics, no third-party trackers.

The application covers the M1, M2 and M3 Metro lines (including the airport line), the T6 and T7 trams, as well as the A1-A4 lines of the Hellenic Train Suburban Railway. For each station, it displays the next departures with exact times and waiting times, as well as a map with nearby stations.

One of its key features is offline-first mode. All schedules are stored within the app – no internet is needed to see when the next train leaves, neither in a tunnel, nor at the airport without roaming data. When connected, the user can optionally check for updated schedules from the settings.

The application is available in Greek, English and Albanian. Albanian language support was added with version 1.0.3, covering a vibrant community in Athens that until now did not have a corresponding tool in its native language.

Syrmos' code is open source under a BSD license, publicly available on GitHub. It is written with a common core in Kotlin Multiplatform, SwiftUI for iOS, and Compose Multiplatform for Web and Android.
