Talko: The application that aspires to bring the ... speech to mobile

Talko: Η άνοδος των smartphones φαίνεται να έχει «υπονομεύσει» κατά κάποιον τρόπο τον βασικό ρόλο των κινητών, καθώς είναι πάρα πολλοί αυτοί οι οποίοι προτιμούν να χρησιμοποιούν τα τηλέφωνά τους με πολλούς άλλους τρόπους πέρα από τη δι calls, choosing to communicate with them by sending messages, emails, etc.

This is what former chief technology officer Ray Ozzie aspires to change της Microsoft, ο οποίος μαζί με δύο συνεργάτες του πέρασαν τα δύο τελευταία χρόνια δημιουργώντας την Talko communication.

«Μισούν να διακόπτονται, χωρίς να ξέρουν ποια είναι η or the subject of the call” he argues.

According to him, the fact that other methods of communication via smartphones, such as text messages, emails and photos can be "saved", searched and promoted to others, makes the "humble" voice call less attractive even if at times voice is the best and most efficient way to communicate quickly.

Talko focuses on group calls. Discussions can be labeled according to their subject, recorded and saved by default. Because they are preserved, it is possible to mark some parts with notes to be able to hear important points - and these notes can also be seen by someone who did not participate in the conversation. It is also possible to use hashtags in conversations that can be searched later by topic, and each member of the group can add audio messages to a conversation in a second year.

As a first step, Talko is available for the iPhone, and is expected to be released in the coming months Android. The application includes the ability to send text messages and photos, allowing the user to write to others while a call is in progress, or share photos they have just pulled.

Although the application is clearly corporate / business oriented, Ozzy believes that it could also be addressed to the general consumer public, on issues such as travel or outing planning, or simply maintaining a steady stream of mixed-media communication. In the long run, Talko could have other features, such as auto-recording or highlighting names mentioned in a conversation, with the aim of further interacting with them.
