Microsoft is adding a bunch of AI agents to Teams today, promising Copilot assistants for every channel, meeting, and community. The new AI agents will also work in SharePoint and Viva Engage, and will be available to Microsoft 365 Copilot users.
AI agents-moderators will now participate in Teams meetings, creating agendas, taking notes, and answering questions.
They will also be able to suggest time limits for different meeting topics – notifying participants if they have exceeded deadlines – and create documents and tasks.
A mobile version is designed to be activated “with a single tap,” so you can be sure that the AI agents won’t miss “a quick conversation in the hallway or a spontaneous sync.”
Channel AI agents are designed to answer questions based on the channel's past conversations and meetings, and can also generate status reports for a project in the same way.
