The Sony Pictures Comedy for North Korea titled The Interview has brought revenues that exceeded one million dollars in its projection in a limited number of rooms 25 in December, as announced today.
The film, with a budget of $44 million, was initially withdrawn after major cinema chainsgraphics theaters decided to cancel its screening for security reasons. It was finally screened in 320 small and medium theaters in USA, or in 10% of the theaters where it was originally planned to be shown.
Rory Brewer, Sony's president of distribution, expressed his "gratitude" to the audience in a statement. It is recalled that the company suffered attack systems information technologyfor which the US government blamed North Korea and warned of retaliation. The film, a farce, has theme the alleged assassination of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
