One of the biggest blockbusters of 2021 will be the long-awaited Matrix 4, which is scheduled to be released on December 22 in cinemas by HBO Max. Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are back, along with some young actors.
Warner Bros. announced at CinemaCon 2021 that the film, written and directed by Lana Wachowski, is called The Matrix: Resurrections.
It starts with a town and a psychiatrist (Neil Patrick Harris) sitting with a patient named Thomas. Thomas is Keanu Reeves and he has serious problems. He says he has dreams that are not dreams at all. We see him walking down the street with the green Matrix code.
"I am crazy?" he wonders. He enters a cafe and greets the Trinity. "We have met?" he asks as they shake hands.
You have the feeling that everything that happened before with Neo, Trinity and Morpheus is happening again, with small changes. The characters seem to live the same stories over and over again, or something. We do not really know. If we knew it would not be Matrix…
Starring Jada Pinkett Smith, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick and Jonathan Groff, The Matrix: Resurrections will premiere on December 22.
