If you live in the US you can buy the Thermonator, a perfectly legal robot dog with a built-in flamethrower for less than $10.000.
Do you have a house with a garden and instead of being a watchdog, your dog happily wags its tail at strangers and acquaintances? Don't torture yourself. Put your dog in the living room and for the garden buy the Thermonator robot dog for $10.000. It has a flamethrower that, if it sees the thief, turns everything into ash and rubble.
And yet, Thermonator, the first "robot dog that wields a flamethrower," is perfectly legal in 48 US states. Manufactured by Throwflame in Ohio and finally the sales started. With free shipping throughout the US and a cost of $9.420.
The Thermonator is a four-legged robot with an ARC flamethrower (manufactured by the same company) mounted on his back, fueled by gasoline or chemical napalm (guess who makes it). It has a one-hour battery life, a flame throw range of 9 meters and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for remote control via smartphone.
It also includes a LIDAR sensor for mapping and obstacle avoidance, laser sighting and first-person view (FPV) navigation via a built-in camera. The product appears to be based on a quadruped version Unitree Go2 robot which retails for just $1.600 in its base configuration.
The company lists potential applications for the new robot as "fire control and prevention," "agricultural management," "ecological conservation," "snow and ice removal," and "entertainment and SFX." But most of all, it sets fire to various parts of the real world.
And if you're wondering what brains they carry over there in the US, in 2018, Elon Musk offered a first official Boring Company flamethrower and reportedly sold 10.000 units within 48 hours.
Flamethrowers are not specifically regulated in 48 US states, as they are not considered firearms by federal agencies. Consequently, the Thermonator might be a must-have Easter gift for your little Johnny this year.
And if you don't like dogs, the company has made sure to supply you with it drone mountable flamethrower, costing only $1.600. Of course it is sold legally in America.
And if you think they can't come to your country because of its laws and other silly excuses, you are sorely mistaken. We are curious to see when such a robot will be walking around in the yard of some expensive villa, somewhere in Greece.
