NTDEV, the developer who develops tiny11 builder doesn't stop making his project better and better. tiny11 builder receives almost daily updates.
If you like to usesτε το PowerShell και scripts, τότε θα απολαύσετε τη χρήση του tiny11 builder.
With the latest version released last night, tiny11 builder now supports ESD files in addition to WIMs. It also completely removes all Microsoft Edge components. The release note states:
Tiny11 builder – 01-05-24 release
This new version of tiny11 builder allows the ability to use images that have ESD files instead of the standard WIM. It also suppresses some of the output, making it a little easier to keep track of what's going on.
It also cleans the last remnants of Edge! Last but not least, it fixes a problem with logs.
The developer gives instructions on how to use the tiny11 builder:
Instructions:
- Download Windows 11 from the Microsoft website (https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11)
- Mount the downloaded ISO using Windows Explorer.
- Select the drive letter you mounted the image on (just the drive letter, no colons (:))
- Select the SKU you want the image to be based on.
- Sit back and relax :)
- When the image is complete, you will see it in the folder where it was created export from the script named tiny11.iso
More details are available at official repository on GitHub.
In case you don't know, ESD or Electronic Software Download, like WIM from Windows Imaging Format, is an image format for distributing the Windows operating system. However, unlike WIM, ESD is encrypted.
ESD images are generated by WIM using the LZMS compression algorithm and is done using “solid compression.” This means that the files are not compressed individually and therefore ESD files cannot be mounted or modified easily, unlike WIM. The advantage is that ESD files are smaller than WIM.
good evening gentlemen,
While I see that you are quite involved with Tiny11, you probably never installed them, because after downloading and installing the updates, after the first reboot, all the bloatware and features that users chose not to include in the file they created come back. The result is that they take up almost as much storage space as Windows 11. The only way to prevent Tiny11 from becoming almost the same as Windows 11 is to disable all updates. But this creates a series of problems, such as not updating the hardware with the latest versions of drivers, keeping the bugs of the version the user chose to create the custom file he created, not getting new features that are added over time in Microsoft software and above all not to receive security updates, leaving holes in the security of its operating system. Finally, if the user nevertheless decides to install Tiny11 and keep updates enabled, some features will be missing, which cannot be replaced by a program, except by installing the regular version of Windows, such as certification and management of digital signatures.
