At the top of the list of the most popular social media in Greece is the YouTube, with 93% of Internet users stating that they are using it.
According to a publication on the website of SEP (Hellenic Association of Information Technology and Communications), a study titled "Exploiting Social Media by Greek Online Consumers", ELTRUN's e-Business and Commerce Laboratory, suggests that the most common The actions of the Greek user on YouTube and often in the frequency of "often to daily" is listening to songs (87%) and searching for current news videos (36%).
The survey was conducted between November - December 2014, on a sample - so far - 694 people.
The Facebook in the second place
According to the data of the survey, presented at the 10th EEDE conference, Facebook is in second place in the preferences of Greek users with a rate of 80%. The popular social network has 4,5 million users in Greece (with an average of 250 friends each, with 36% knowing up to 50% of their friends).
However, although Facebook's popularity rate has declined by 2 units, compared to the survey one year earlier, its users seem to become more active over time. For example, there is an increase in online chatting from 39% a year earlier, at 52% today.
Also, "Upload photos" activity has increased from 58% to 73%. In general, the usual activity of Facebook users on the social networking page is simple "like" (71%) and online chat (52%).
Highly LinkedIn
High in the preferences of the Greek users, namely in the third place, is LinkedIn with 66% (with the popularity of the medium being increased by 5 units compared to 2013).
In the fourth place are the consumer product reviews pages (59%) (ELTRUN includes them in social media). These websites show a special dynamic, as according to the survey, 52% indicates that it is influenced by product reviews it reads.
The blogs (53% of those who participated in the survey declare that they are using) are in fifth place in the list of popular social media. Twitter is just in the 6 position, with 48% participating in the survey using it.
The list of the most used social media is completed by Instagram with 28%, the Google+ with 19%, Foursquare with 5% and the flickr with 4%.
